SmartStream is looking for a Part Qualified accountant to assist in delivering financial support and analysis along with limited routine accounting entries for selected areas of the business. The role will play a part in preparing monthly reporting deliverables, undertaking ad-hoc analysis and investigating related queries.

Job Responsibilities

  • Preparing established monthly reporting packs for the business units, functions/cost centres with appropriate commentary on variances to budget
  • Providing financial support for the Marketing function, raising a limited number of prepayments and accruals, reconciling a limited number of balance sheet accounts, preparing a summary of monthly and YTD performance to budget with appropriate analysis
  • Preparing monthly analysis of areas of expenditure, such as Travel & Entertainment, Facilities & Infrastructure, Legal and Exceptional items
  • Attend the monthly P&L pre-close meetings, having already investigated the relevant areas and provide explanations/status updates
  • Assist in the roll out of improved financial analysis for Development and Product Management, including timesheet costing and support costing   
  • Assist with aspects of the monthly / quarterly reporting to the overseas parent   
  • Assist in Expense and Cashflow forecasting   
  • Assisting the Group Tax Manager and Corporate Accountant as may be required
  • Undertake project work/investigations as required

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of the Great Plains accounting system
  • Experience of using a Business planning and analysis tool, such as Anaplan

   

Qualifications and Experience

  • Progress towards a recognised accounting qualification, such as CIMA or ACCA, with evidence of progress in examinations
  • Experience of a multi-site / multi-entity global organisation
