Senior Business Analyst - Cash and Liquidity Management

London or Bristol, UK

The Business Analyst is responsible for gathering, analysing and writing business requirements with the goal of becoming a subject matter expert in SmartStream Cash and Liquidity Management product. They should be able to elicit requirements from clients, prospects and the market in general and relay such requirements clearly and concisely to the development and QA teams.



Job Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyse and write business requirements
  • Relay requirements clearly and concisely to the development and QA teams
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients during product enhancement projects
  • Track relevant regulatory frameworks and market initiatives and decipher product requirements 
  • Run workshops with client to gather product requirements
  • Act as a product subject matter expert
  • Support sales and delivery teams as required
  • Able to travel up to 20% of the time either to London or Bristol (depending on their base) and to client sites globally as required 


Key Skills 

  • Candidate will preferably have knowledge of many of the following business processes from a banking operations perspective:
    • Cash forecasting
    • Cash sweeping
    • Intraday reconciliations
    • Short term investment instruments (money market, termed deposits, foreign exchange transaction etc)
    • Intraday liquidity management
    • BCBS248 and BCBS144 Principle 8 regulatory frameworks
    • SWIFT MT900, MT910, MT942, MT940, MT950, MT545, MT547, MT103, MT202 messages
    • Payments processing
  • Self-motivated with exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to create and execute user acceptance test cases
  • Ability to multi-task and to complete tasks within product release deadlines
  • Strong analytics skills 
  • Ability to present product features and concepts to both internal and external audiences


Qualifications and Experience

  • Honours Degree in a business of technology discipline
  • Software development lifecycle
  • Agile software development
  • Project Management experience is desirable
  • Product management or business analysis within financial services
