Job Responsibilities  

Typical Work Activities include:

  • Daily monitoring of jobs in Control-M
  • Working on job failures, identifying the issues and resolving within SLA.
  • Scheduling and Monitoring data loads via various scheduling tools like Control^ M; Ensure timely and accurate data loads; identify any fallout in data
  • Monitoring jobs performance and working with development team to resolve any performance issues
  • Performing data uploads, data updates and enrichments, data reloads as requested by business users
  • Responding to requests from business users on data analysis and work estimation
  • Debugging and identifying the issues with workflow/code
  • Monitoring inline communication between different applications (Internal and External)
  • SQL Query maintenance and optimization
  • Build the shell scripts on demand
  • Gathering information to investigate customer data problems via remote hosted server access
  • Debugging, replicating, testing on ETL Jobs and documenting results
  • Ensuring all relevant teams are kept informed on progress of all investigations. Work closely with the Production Operations team
  • Discuss solutions within the team and other departments to ensure best solution is presented in a straight forward manner to the customer
  • Recording sufficient details of the problem so that other departments can pick up and run with the identified issue if escalation is required
  • Attending project and team meetings

 

Key Skills

  • Technical Skills Required:
    • Knowledge in Informatica / Talend to debug workflows and identify issues.
    • Knowledge in UNIX / Shell scripting
    • Strong working knowledge of SQL and database concepts and writing queries.
    • Data analysis required for identifying the fallouts in dataKnowledge with scheduling tool - Control -M
  • Technical Skills Desirable:
    • Exposure to Ticketing Management Tools – Jira / HP Service Manager
    • Exposure to Java
  • Ability to drive changes and lead support team 
  • Deep understanding of various IT Support models and frameworks

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Graduate (B.E, BSc, BCOM etc.) or Post Graduate (MBA, MS, MCA etc.)  
  • Primary experience on:
    • ETL: Informatica / Talend
    • Database: Oracle / PostGre’s SQL Programming, Unix
    • Tools : Toad / PL/SQL Developer, FTP / sFTP
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Informatica / Talend ; SQL developer Support
  • Deep understanding of various IT Support models and frameworks
  • Experience in Issue Identification, Root Cause Analysis and Providing tactical and strategic solutions
  • Control mindset and ability to identify data quality issues
