SmartStream Technologies, the Transaction Lifecycle Management specialist, today announced that it is sponsoring the Banker Middle East Industry Awards 2008, the region’s leading awards for financial institutions.

Now in their eighth year, the awards recognise individual and institutional success across all areas of finance from retail banking through to private equity and provide the benchmark for successful institutions in the region. More than 500 senior bankers are set to attend the SmartStream-sponsored gala dinner held in the Godolphin Ballroom, Emirates Towers Hotel in Dubai on June 17th to discover the winners in all 30 categories.

Ken Archer, CEO of SmartStream Technologies, said: “We’re delighted to be sponsoring these awards, which recognise ongoing and significant success in one of the financial markets most strategically important and dynamic regions. Working with more than 1,000 financial institutions around the world, we know only too well that to be competitive in this global industry takes enormous drive, innovation and a clear vision. We’d like to congratulate every firm that has been nominated for an award and applaud their achievements in actively driving the industry forward.”

Nigel Rodrigues, CEO of CPI Financial, publisher of Banker Middle East, said: “Having SmartStream, a company with a significant global reputation in financial services technology, sponsoring the awards is highly appropriate. Its recent expansion into the region highlights how important the Middle East is to the global financial markets and the growing appetite for proven industry solutions. These awards have become an integral part of the region’s banking sector, recognising and rewarding significant growth and achievements and allow new and old, large and small institutions to triumph and be acknowledged by their peers for recent successes”.
