Philippe Chambadal
Chief Executive Officer
Philippe Chambadal, CEO of SmartStream, is also the CEO of DClear - a wholly-owned subsidiary of DIFC Investments and SmartStream's parent company. As the CEO of DClear, Philippe led the acquisition of SmartStream in 2007.
Prior to his appointment he served as a SmartStream board member and actively driving the Company’s progress in the marketplace. Philippe has held senior management positions in software and hi-tech firms for the past 15 years. He was the Founder & CEO of MetaMatrix, the leading data services platform purchased by Red Hat. Prior to MetaMatrix, he was EVP at FAME Software, a Warburg Pincus portfolio company - subsequently acquired by Sungard.
Additionally, Philippe co-founded Reuters New Media and was responsible for the successful launch of the Reuters Terminal, the first Windows-based product launched in the financial market. He also created and led the Research & Analytics division at Instinet.
Richard Bemindt
Chief Technology Officer
Richard, Chief Technology Officer of SmartStream and SmartStream Utilities, joined the company in 2009 bringing significant industry experience in management, technology and reference data. In this role, Richard is responsible for setting the company’s technical direction, managing R&D and overseeing internal technology.
Prior to joining, Richard worked predominately in software companies for 25 years, holding CTO/SVP positions for Capco Reference Data Services, Applimation, Petal Computing, International Fund Services and GoldenSource.
Paul Hansford
Executive Vice President, Professional Services
Paul Hansford is responsible for SmartStream's Global professional services operations. He joined SmartStream in 2010, bringing with him more than 25 years of experience in the financial technology and financial information sectors.
Prior to joining SmartStream he was Product Director at FTSE International and previously held various senior management positions at Reuters where he was directly responsible for their flagship product 3000Xtra, running the successful risk management business in the UK and introduced the highly acclaimed 6 sigma methodology to their data operations. In his role heading professional services, Paul places particular focus on customer service and value delivery.
Alastair McGill
Executive Vice President, Business Development and Alliances
Alastair is EVP, Business Development and Alliances for SmartStream. The global business development team creates alliances and sales channels that compliment SmartStream's direct sales operation and aligns partners to the company's key growth initiatives. Working with Infrastructure and Service providers, market participants, System Integrators, BPO Providers, Resellers, Solutions partners and consultancies the team investigates and invests in new markets, solutions and sectors to create sustainable value for SmartStream and its partners.
Prior to joining SmartStream in 2004 as Chief Marketing Officer, Alastair held several marketing management and alliance positions with Hewlett-Packard and PeopleSoft.
David Penney
EVP Strategy and Product Management
David is the co-founder of DClear, where he has started the utilities offerings and as EVP Strategy and Product Management carries responsibility for all products. David has enjoyed a 27 year career spanning highly technical, management and commercial roles including the practical applications and sales of SOA, integration, distributed systems and data management to Financial Services, Defence and other industries.
Prior companies include the virtual data services product pioneer, MetaMatrix, where David was a key executive for 5 years as Technical Director then as European Managing Director, responsible for the OEM relationship to SAP and sales to Intelligence and Defence groups, banks and telcos. Prior to that role, David worked at Logica as a consultant, middleware expert and senior solution architect advising banks and brokers on changing business processes and technology.
Before Logica, David enjoyed a number of varied and exciting roles during 15 years at Citibank Global Treasury during which time he was an architect, ran development for key high performance distributed trading and back office systems used in 35 countries, support and technical infrastructure design for dealing floors.
David Porter
HR Director
David is responsible for all aspects of Human Resources worldwide. He joined SmartStream in December of 2008. Prior to this he gained extensive international HR experience with Shell, Thomson Financial and International SOS.
David graduated from the University of Glasgow with honours in Political Economy and Economic History and is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
Mark Roth
Chief Marketing Officer
As Chief Marketing Officer, Mark brings a wealth of experience to SmartStream having held senior marketing roles for over 20 years. Responsibilities include managing all aspects of marketing and communications activities across the company.
Prior to joining the company Mark was with Vitria Technology heading up the corporate marketing function, where he leveraged the existing brand awareness and history of success to build a new and deeper understanding of the Company and its marquee solutions. Previously Mark was responsible for marketing at MetaMatrix, the leading SOA company, overseeing all aspects of their marketing efforts. Earlier, Mark oversaw the marketing at DataSynapse, RareMedium Inc, McGraw-Hill’s Standard & Poor’s Financial Services Consumer Division and at New York State’s ‘I Love New York’ campaign.
Christian Schiebl
Executive Vice President
Christian Schiebl, Executive Vice President, manages SmartStream’s business in the EMEA and JPAC regions. Joining SmartStream following the acquisition of Management Data, Christian brings with him more than 23 year’s experience in the financial information and technology sector.
Prior to joining SmartStream, Christian’s experience spans from software development, professional services to consultancy and selling. With a Masters and PhD from the Technical University in Vienna and an MBA from the University of Economy in Vienna, his career started in developing software with universities such as MIT, Berley and TU Vienna. From here he moved to a principal consulting role, with the last 20 years spent in various management positions at companies including Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC), Compaq and Management Data.
Katharina Schrolnberger
Corporate Counsel and Company Secretary
Katharina Schrolnberger joined Management Data, now part of the SmartStream Technologies Group, as Legal Counsel, in 1995. Following the IBO from Geac, Katharina was appointed Corporate Counsel and Company Secretary. Previously, Katharina held the position of Legal Counsel at EDV GmbH, and holds a degree in Law from the University of Vienna.
Darryl Twiggs
EVP Product Management
As Head of Product Management, Darryl is responsible for the business direction of all products and management of them through their product lifecycle from inception to delivery.
Darryl joined SmartStream in 1999, as Product Manager for reconciliations and delivered the first version of TLM Reconciliations in 2001. By 2002 Darryl was instrumental in setting up, managing and building the SmartStream’s Corporate Actions business. Ensuring SmartStream keeps at the forefront of solution delivery, Darryl launched the SmartStream's hosted service, TLM OnDemand in 2010. More recently, Darryl has managed the Pre-Sales team for the UK and Europe.
Prior to joining SmartStream, he worked at De La Rue, where he set up and ran the cash and treasury management systems team. Darryl has a Ph.D. in Magneto-Optics and degree in Applied Physics.
