A requirement has arisen for a Pre Sales Consultant. This role is responsible for assisting the sales team to drive revenue by helping to qualify accounts, answer RFP/RFI’s, preparing and delivering product based presentations, and delivering proof of concepts which meet customer business requirements. The Pre Sales Consultant will work with SmartStream’s solutions and is responsible for handling any business/technical question or issue which arises during a sales cycle and setting appropriate customer expectations. Another aspect of the Pre Sales Consultant position is working with the Professional Services area to handover the account to ensure deliverables for implementation and also to attend Industry Events, where we will demonstrate solutions on our stand.

 

Background should be at least 2-5 + years previous experience in the Financial Services Industry with a focus in banking, middle and back office trade process management, exception management, fails management or reference data management for Broker/Dealers, Custodians or Investment Managers.

The Successful Candidate will the following Business Skills

  • Payment, Securities, FX, Equities, Derivatives, etc. 
  • Reconciliation Processing
  • Corporate Actions
  • Financial Messaging, including SWIFT, FpML, FIX.
  • Also an understanding of ASP and BPO models.

The Successful Candidate will have the following technical & sales skills

· Practical experience of SQL, RDBMS (at least one of Oracle, Sybase or SQL Server).

· Knowledge of the usual Operating Systems (UNIX, Windows)

· Relational databases (primarily Oracle and SQL Server)

· Operating Systems (Windows and UNIX)

· ETL Tools (any)

· Web Application Server environments (WebSphere, WebLogic and JBOSS)

· Web Development Environments (HTML, Java Script and J2EE)

· Is able to describe SmartStream solutions and how they interact with 3rd Party technologies.

· Has the ability to handle customer meetings without the assistance of other staff.

· Can participate in deep technical meetings with customers.

· Has the ability to assess a customer’s business problem and recommend appropriate solutions.

· When complex problems requiring out-of-the-box thinking arise, can document a solution and articulate the business value to a customer.

· Continuously updating technical knowledge and learning new products and feature sets.

· Must be resourceful, self-motivated, customer focused, and able to work in a team.

· Possesses good presentation skills.

· Is able to talk to different audiences, appropriately adjust technical/business content to meet different audience knowledge and interest, and can juggle meetings with multiple audience levels.

· Is able to handle customer objections by determining the real business problem, articulating our ability to solve their problems, and finding creative solutions rather than answering “no”.

· Possesses an understanding of sales methodologies and can apply them in a sales situation.

· Analytical skills to analyze data, complete research, diagnose and solve business and technical problems.
